In a few days my son will be turning two. That means he's losing his baby fat, and he's becoming a bit mischievous. We had a few successes a few weeks ago with going pee pee in the potty, but then he totally lost interest. Now that he's turning two on Sunday, we are going to put him on the potty regularly. I mean, anytime an almost two year old comes to you and says, boo boo AFTER he boo booed in his diaper tells me he knows what "it" is and that soon he will no longer want "it" on him.
Yesterday morning, he awoke with a dry diaper. For you potty novices, that means he's showing that he's ready for potty training. I put him on the potty right away with a book and some juice, but he just sat. About 15 minutes after he sat down, he nonchalantly got up, turned around, closed the potty lid, and peed on TOP of the potty. Hey, progress is progress, right?
Here's a scene from "Elmo's Potty Time" which is a video we used to help our daughter through the "process". Turn the volume up if you want a head-bangin' experience! LOVE this song!
