I guess this is one way to explain it to your child, but is it really THAT serious? I can think of a few other ways to explain to my children why Q and U should always follow one another. How about:

1. Just like peanut butter and jelly, the letters Q and U should always be together.
2. Just like peas and carrots (if your children eat them)...
3. Just like mommy and daddy...
4. Just like t-shirts and underpants (in my home anyway)...
5. Just like waffles and syrup...

Need I go on?
